DELIVERY POLICIES
Automatic Delivery
Gain peace-of-mind with automatic delivery. Our system is designed to factor in your historic fuel usage with how cold it’s been to determine the best timing for your fuel deliveries. In the unlikely event you do experience a run-out, please call the office immediately. We will dispatch a truck to your location right away (day or night) and make that delivery with no Special Delivery charges.
“Will Call” Delivery
When filling out our “New Customer Agreement” you may choose to be on “Will Call” for your fuel deliveries. Being on “Will Call” for fuel deliveries means that you will not receive a delivery unless you call us and place an order. It is very important for you to keep in mind that our delivery trucks are in your area only once a week as a general rule. If you call and place an order for fuel delivery on a Monday afternoon, for example, it’s possible that our delivery truck will not be in your area until the next Monday.
We encourage our “Will Call” customers to call for a fuel delivery before their tank gets critically low. To place an order when your fuel level drops to 1/4 of a tank is the safe thing to do. If you let your tank get too low and an emergency delivery is needed, a special delivery charge will be added to your bill.
If you are a propane “Will-Call” customer and you allow your propane to run out, there will be a $75 charge for pressure testing your system. This pressure test is required by law when a propane system experiences a run-out.
Special Delivery Charges
Special delivery charges will vary depending on when and where the delivery has to be made. For example, a special delivery made during the middle of the night 35 miles from our office could result in a special delivery charge of $200 or more.
Minimum Delivery Amounts
Our minimum delivery for fuel oil and kerosene is 150 gallons. Our minimum delivery for propane (LP Gas) is 100 gallons.
Accessibility to Fuel Tanks & Fill Pipes
As our customer, you agree to keep your driveway passable and clear of ice and snow. If our delivery truck is unable to get within 130 feet of the storage tank or fill pipe, we will not be able to make the delivery. Our drivers are all professionals and they know the capabilities of their delivery trucks. For driveways that are not clear of ice and snow, or are not readily passable for any other reason, it is the decision of the driver whether or not an attempt will be made to make the delivery. Management will back our driver’s decision 100%.
Credit Policies and Payment Terms
New Account Application
A “New Customer Agreement” must be filled out and credit approved to establish a new account. Accounts that require fuel oil, kerosene, diesel fuel, or gasoline which do not meet our credit standards will be placed on C.O.D. and payment must be received in our office prior to any delivery. Propane accounts may be on C.O.D terms if they have a deposit with us.
Payment Terms
For credit-approved accounts, all deliveries are payable in 30 days. A prompt payment discount is allowed for fuel oil deliveries if payment is received within 10 days of delivery. We do not offer prompt payment discounts for LP or gasoline deliveries.
Delinquent Accounts
For account balances over 30 days, a service charge of 1½% will be added to your account. We are not responsible for accounts that run out of fuel because of deliveries being held due to nonpayment. Should the account go to collection or an attorney, the person who signed the “New Customer Agreement” agrees to pay any reasonable fees pertaining to the collection of the account.
